I don’t know what it is but it seems like college kids are absolutely afraid of going to the medical office on campus. They could be crawling on their stomachs, wheezing and coughing from one class to the next but the second they hear anything about the medical office it’s all “I’m fine” or “Nah, I’ll be alright”.
So my thought this year was to set up kind of a smaller med-tent in the center of campus right behind the main cafeteria and student center. It’s completely free to come get checked out, there’s total privacy, and did I mention that it is free. They don’t have to do any kind of exams if they don’t want to but if they’re sick with a cold or maybe even hurt themselves, they can just walk on by the tent and we’ll help them in whatever way we can. I just want to make sure that our students are happy and healthy.
